UHMWPE Technical Specifications
UHMWPE (Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) is a polyolefin fiber composed of extremely long, aligned polyethylene chains, making it one of the strongest rope materials available. Its molecular structure provides exceptional resistance to most chemicals including detergents, mineral acids, and oils, though it can be affected by strong oxidizing agents.
With a density of only 0.97 g/cm³ and a low coefficient of friction similar to PTFE, UHMWPE offers superior abrasion resistance. The material maintains performance across an extensive temperature range from -150°C to +70°C, with a melting point between 144°C and 152°C.
