Dual Axis Worm Gear Slewing Drive Description
Slewing drives are driven by hydraulic or electric motors. The slewing drive consists of a slewing bearing and a drive worm. A worm gear transmission transmits torque to the slewing ring, with optional gear backlash reduction. Slewing drives are available in a variety of configurations, with one or more drives, and single or double worm shafts. Lubrication can be carried out with grease or oil.
