Application:
The Bovine Tuberculosis Antibody Rapid Test Cassette (Serum/Plasma) is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative detection of Bovine Tuberculosis Antibody (BTB Ab) in cattle’s serum or plasma.
Description:
The Bovine Tuberculosis Antibody Rapid Test Cassette (Serum/Plasma) is based on sandwich lateral flow immunochromatographic assay. The test cassette has a testing window for the observation of assay running and result reading. The testing window has an invisible T (test) zone and a C (control) zone before running the assay. When the treated sample was applied into the sample well on the cassette, the liquid will laterally flow through the surface of the test strip and react with the pre-coated Tuberculosis antigens. If there are anti-TB antibodies in the specimen, a visible T line will appears. The C line should always appear after a sample is applied, which indicates a valid result. By this means, the cassette can accurately indicate the presence of Bovine Tuberculosis antibodies in the specimen.
How to use:
- Collect fresh whole blood, and separate serum or plasma from blood as soon as possible to avoid hemolysis. Only use clear, non-hemolyzed specimens. Do not leave the specimens at room temperature for prolonged periods. Serum and plasma specimens may be stored at 2-8 °C for up to 3 days. For long term storage, Serum and plasma specimens should be kept below -20 °C.
- Place the test cassette on a clean and level surface.
- Hold the dropper vertically and add 1 drop of serum or plasma specimen (approximately 25 μL) into the sample hole(S). Then add 1 drop of buffer (approximately 40 μL) into specimen well (S) and start the timer.
- Read the result in 5-10 minutes. Do not interpret results after 15 minutes.
INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS
Positive: The presence of both C line and T line, regardless of T line being strong or faint.
Negative: Only clear C line appears.
Invalid: No colored line appears in C region, regardless of T line’s appearance.
