The rotary table is an additional instrument mounted on the polarizing microscope table. The wafer is sandwiched between a pair of glass hemispheres on a rotating table. By means of the rotation of each rotating axis, the crystal is tilted in space to reach the desired orientation, so as to facilitate the determination of optical constants of crystals and identification of minerals.
