Decoupler is a coupling device widely used in multi-level protection lines, and is widely used in power lines with current less than 63A in power distribution systems. When the lightning current invades the line, the installed decoupler can make the first-level SPD of the line act first, release most of the lightning wave energy, reduce the energy of the second-level SPD, so as to realize a two-level surge protector The cooperation between the two can realize the large inrush current that the system bears, the low residual voltage, and the protection of the subsequent circuits and equipment from overvoltage.

Operation and Maintenance

• When the installation distance between the switch type surge protector and the voltage limiting type surge protector is less than 10m, or the distance between voltage limiting type surge protectors is less than 5m, decoupler shall be installed between the surge protectors to increase the inductive reactance.
• It is connected in the power system in series. The installation is carried on by skilled electrical staff.Inspection shall be made before the installation, to check if the nominal Un value and In value match with the actual system voltage and current. It shall not be installed if not match or the appearance is damaged.

• Pay attention to the temperature allowance when several decouplers and surge protectors are

  connected together.

• Fix the connection screw regularly, and check the appearance of the device, replace the device immediately if any failure occurs.
