Description of Diosmin
Diosmin/Hesperidin is a formulation containing 90% diosmin and 10% hesperidin and is prescribed for the treatment of chronic venous insufciency.
Similar composition in a nonmicronized form is marketed as a dietary supplement / nutraceutical for vascular health.
Diosmin is a semi-synthetic flavonoid (prepared from hesperidin), an oral phlebotropic drug used in the treatment of venous disorders. It is currently used as prescription medication in some European countries, along with hesperidin, to relief (subcutaneous) capillary bleeding.
