Product introduction
Stainless Steel Round Bar AMS 5649 is an austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel round bar with a maximum carbon content of 0.08%. This alloy has excellent oxidation resistance and high tensile and creep strength at elevated temperatures. It is more resistant to marine atmospheres than Type 304. It is generally considered a heat-resistant alloy. The high chromium and relatively low nickel content of stainless steel round bar AMS 5649 provides good resistance to high temperature sulfur-containing atmospheres. Stainless Steel Round Bar AMS 5649 has moderate resistance to carbon uptake and is not recommended for use in highly carburized environments.
