It is a dual action hybrid coupler, consisting of an AAR coupler with a 10A connection profile and a UIC coupler that can be interchangeable. AAR hook head is used when it is connected with the locomotive and rolling stock in line with AAR standard, and chain hook is used when it is connected with the locomotive and rolling stock in line with UIC standard. AAR standard hook head strength is greater than 3000KN, UIC standard chain hook strength is greater than 1350KN, hook body adopts AAR standard, and is assembled with AAR standard buffer and hook tail frame. The advantage of this kind of coupler is that it can be connected between vehicles of different standards. Practice has proved that this kind of double-acting coupler, with low cost and convenient maintenance, is widely used in countries and regions that adopt mixed standard railway, especially in southeast Asia.
