201 stainless steel plate has a similar resistance to general corrosion as the unstable nickel-chromium alloy 304. Prolonged heating of 201 stainless steel in the temperature range of chromium carbide levels may affect alloy 321 and 347 in harsh corrosive media. 201 stainless steel plate is mainly used in high temperature applications, which require the material to have strong sensitization resistance to prevent intergranular corrosion at lower temperatures.
