1. Descriptions:

Carboxymethyl hydroxypropyl guar gum is an anionic guar gum derivative. It is used as a gelling agent to suspend proppant in hydraulic fracturing fluid in oil and gas extraction. It has good high temperature and shear resistance, good sand carrying ability, low friction, low residue of gel breaking fluid, little damage to oil layer, and easy to prepare liquid, which makes it an ideal thickening agent for high temperature fracturing.

Used mostly as gellants in fracturing fluids, guar derivative can be cross-linked with a number of transitional metal ions, as well as borates. Once cross-linked, guar offers excellent carrying capacity to support proppants used in the hydraulic fracturing process.
