Guar gum for hand sanitizer is hydroxypropyl modified non-ionic guar gum. INCI, Chinese name: Hydroxypropyl guar, English name: Hydroxypropyl guar, CAS No. 39421-75-5, is a white to yellowish free-flowing powder that is soluble in water and forms a gelatinous substance upon contact with water and thickened rapidly.

The modified hydroxypropyl guar gum is very gentle to the skin and can reduce the irritation of the surfactant in the formulated product. It expands and dissolves rapidly over a wide range of PH values, and remains stable even in systems with high salt content.
