SO-E2-960 Limiting Current Oxygen Sensor Medical Use Portable Oxygen Meter

Working Principle:
Because the carrier of current in the zirconia electrolyte is oxygen ions, when voltage is applied to the zirconia electrolyzer, oxygen is drawn to the anode through the zirconia disk. If a perforated cover is added to the cathode of the electrolyzer, the rate at which oxygen flows to the cathode is limited. Limited by this rate, as the applied voltage gradually increases, the current in the electrolyzer reaches saturation. This saturation current is called the limiting current and is proportional to the oxygen concentration in the surrounding environment.
