Features:

Gas sensors for combustible gases mainly detect gas concentrations through principles such as catalytic combustion, semiconductor, infrared and electrochemistry. Among them, catalytic combustion type is widely used in industrial fields due to its high stability.

Catalytic combustion sensor

Principle: Combustible gas undergoes flameless combustion on the surface of the platinum resistor under the catalytic effect of the catalyst, generating heat that causes the resistance value to change. The voltage difference signal resulting from the imbalance of the bridge circuit reflects the concentration of the gas.

Features: High precision, fast response, approximately 3-year lifespan, but susceptible to poisoning by sulfides, etc.

Semiconductor sensor

Principle: When metal oxides (such as tin dioxide) adsorb gases at high temperatures, their electrical conductivity changes, and the resistance value is proportional to the gas concentration.

Characteristics: Low cost, high sensitivity, but poor stability, long preheating time. Mostly used in civilian equipment.

Infrared optical sensor

Principle: By utilizing the absorption characteristics of gases to specific wavelengths of infrared light, the concentration can be calculated based on the absorption intensity. This method is applicable to carbon-hydrocarbon compounds such as methane.

Features: Strong anti-interference ability, long service life, but high cost and ineffective for non-carbon-hydrocarbon gases.
