Detection Principle:

The MP503 gas sensor is for air quality detection. It adopts multilayer thick - film manufacturing technology. The heater and metal oxide semiconductor material on the ceramic substrate of subminiature Al₂O₃ are fetched out by electrode down - lead, encapsulated in a metal socket and cap. The conductivity of the sensor is affected by the concentration of the target gas. The higher the concentration is, the higher the conductivity of the sensor gets. Users can adopt a simple circuit to convert the variation of conductivity into an output signal corresponding to the gas concentration.

Cautions:

• Avoid Exposure to Volatile Organic Silicon Vapors: The sensing material will lose sensitivity and never recover if the sensor absorbs organic silicon steam. Sensors must avoid being exposed to environments containing silicon bonds, fixatives, silicon latex, putty, or plastics containing silicon.
• Avoid High - Corrosive Gases: Exposure to high - concentration corrosive gases should be avoided, as it will affect the performance of the sensor.
• Avoid Water Condensation: Slight water condensation indoors will slightly affect the performance of the sensor. If water condenses on the sensor surface and remains for a certain period, the sensitivity of the sensor will be damaged.
