Plastic structured column packing has the advantages of light weight, large capacity, pressure drop, large specific surface area and easy replacement, and is widely used in unit operations such as rectification, absorption and extraction.
The heat resistance of the material reaches 100°C for PP and 150°C for PVDF. Packing sheets can be perforated to improve mass transfer efficiency. If the separation requirement is not high, there is no need to punch holes to increase the stiffness of the sheet.
Types of plastic structured packing:
1. The wire mesh filler is a steel wire weave made of a mixture of PP and polyacrylonitrile.
2. The plastic corrugated sheet packing is made of pp or PVDF sheet, which can be perforated to improve mass transfer efficiency.

The "X" type packing has an inclination of 60° to the horizontal axis and is suitable for high volume and low pressure drop applications.
