The grid packing has a low specific surface area and is mainly used in occasions requiring small pressure drop, large load and anti-blocking.

Plastic grid packing: The distance between the plates is large (generally 24~42mm), the porosity is high, the specific surface area is large, the gas and liquid have a fixed direction, and the channels of each layer of the plate are not uniform, with the increase of the gas volume Or the liquid volume is increased, and the effect between the gas and liquid phases is enhanced, but the amount of hysteresis liquid is small, the resistance of the tower is very small, and there is no phenomenon that the packed bed is full of liquid in the grid packing tower, so the plastic grid packing is used. For the renovation of old towers, a higher superficial velocity can be selected, which is 1.5 to 3 times that of general packing. The production capacity has been greatly improved, and the design of the new tower can reduce the diameter and height of the tower.

Plastic grid packing: It is composed of plastic plates, rods and tubes, which are assembled according to the diameter of the tower and the size of the entrance hole after the processing plant. The design and manufacture are simple, and the space utilization of the tower is improved. It uses plastic sheet as the main mass transfer component. The plastic sheet is perpendicular to the cross section of the tower and parallel to the direction of airflow and liquid flow. The upper and lower layers rotate at 45 degrees. The liquid descends along the surface of the grid by gravity, contacts the rising gas, and flows downward in a film-like shape on the surface of the plastic sheet.
