Plastic Structured Packing Classification
Plastic perforated plate packing has similar structure with metal structured packing, which can be divided into plate packings and wire gauze packings.
The materials used for the filler are polypropylene, polyethylene, polyvinyl chloride and reinforced polypropylene.
The surface of the packing is pressed with a special stripe, and the selection of the packing is based on the operating conditions. The corrugated plate is an improved corrugated plate. The corrugated plate shall be installed vertically parallel to the longitudinal axis of the container. The corrugated direction on the plate is 30°-60° with the length direction of the plate. The ripples on the same corrugated plate are parallel to each other; The corrugations of the adjacent plates form an intersection.
When the fluid flows in this part, it moves up and down, which helps to coalesce, float up or settle the dispersed phase droplets, and greatly improves the processing capacity and separation efficiency.
Plastic Structured Packing Application
It is widely used in the operation of absorption and decomposition absorption devices, especially in the production process with heavy liquid load and high operating pressure, such as (HCl) and (H2SO4) production, degassing CO2 and H2S from natural gas, drying chlorine, liquid production, waste gas purification and decomposition absorption deoxygenation devices.
Plastic Structured Packing Specification
Structured packaging has two slants, "X" and "Y". The "Y" type packing, with an inclination of approximately 45º to the horizontal axis, is the most widely used packing. They offer higher filtration efficiency than the "X" type, but at the cost of higher pressure drop/lower capacity. The "X" type packing has an inclination of 60° to the horizontal axis and is suitable for high volume and low pressure drop applications.
