CLIA Reagents of Bone Metabilism (iPTH)

【expected usage】

It is used to quantitatively detect the content of whole segment parathyroid hormone (iPTH) in human serum in vitro.
Parathyroid hormone (PTH) helps the body maintain stable calcium levels. Calcium, PTH, vitamin D, phosphorus (phosphate) and magnesium together form a feedback loop. Once this feedback mechanism is disrupted by some pathological conditions or diseases, it will lead to increased or decreased blood calcium and PTH levels, resulting in hypocalcemia or hypercalcemia.
PTH is produced by the 4 parathyroid glands located behind the thyroid. Under normal circumstances, the parathyroid glands secrete PTH into the blood circulation when hypocalcemia occurs in the body. Subsequently, PTH can increase blood calcium to normal levels through three pathways, namely, promoting the release of calcium from the bones; promoting the activation of vitamin D in the kidneys (activating vitamin D can increase the absorption of calcium in the intestine); inhibiting the excretion of calcium from the urine (sodium retention phosphorus). When blood calcium increases, the level of PTH decreases.
PTH consists of 84 amino acids (also known as PTH(1-84)). When PTH is released into the blood by the parathyroid glands, it is then split into various fragments (its half-life is less than 5 minutes). Since Intact PTH is the most primitive parathyroid hormone, it has physiological activity and is not disturbed by diseases other than parathyroidism, so it can truly distinguish whether abnormal blood calcium is related to parathyroidism, and is widely used in clinical practice.
The current clinical and laboratory determination methods of full-parathyroid hormone include fluorescence immunoassay and chemiluminescence assay.
