Multi-Flow Evaluator / MFE For High Pressure Open Hole DST Service

The Multi-Flow Evaluator / MFE is a new approach in drill stem testing, which is the main part of openhole drill stem testing tool string. The multi flow evaluator improves the control during the testing operation and evaluation of test recovery while providing additional information for reservoir analysis.

The Multi-Flow Evaluator, which has dual control valves, is sequentially opened and closed by up and down motion of the drill stem, the MFE is in the closed position going in the hole and is opened with a time delay, by applying weight to the drill stem when bottom is reached .Following this delay the drill stem drops rapidly one inch, indicating opening. To close the MFE the drill stem is picked up through the free point and moderate tension is applied, then weight is set back down. To re-open the MFE the same operation of up and down motion is repeated
