Kill manifold is important control equipment during drilling well, the manifold can be used to kill the well and avoid the risk of fire. Kill manifolds are used to forcibly inject heavy drilling fluid, fresh water and fire extinguishing agent into the well to carry out well-kill operation, prevent well kick, blowout or fire, and fire suppression operation after fired. It can be open flowed through flow out pipeline directly to release bottom pressure of the well. Kill manifold composes of check valve, gate valve, flanged pipe and pressure indicator.

Function of Kill Manifold 

When the wellhead pressure is increased, the heavy weight drilling fluid can be pumped into the well through the kill manifold to balance the pressure in bottom hole, which can prevent from well kick and blowout. The discharge pipe line connected to the kill manifold can be used for direct discharging, to release the pressure in bottom hole. Also we can adopt squeeze cementing operations to inject the water and fire extinguishing agent into the wellhead, through the check valve in the kill manifold, the killing fluid or other fluid can only be injected into the well, and can not be returned to achieve the killing and other operations.
