7A04 aluminum bar belongs to Al-Zn-Mg-Cu super-high strength aluminium alloy, also known as super hard aluminium, which is quite mature in super hard aluminium and has been used for a long time and widely. 7A04 aluminum bar has high strength, good heat treatment strengthening effect and medium plasticity under annealing and new quenching conditions. Unlike hard aluminium, the corrosion resistance under artificial aging condition is better than that under natural aging condition, and the natural aging process is slow. It takes three months to reach the peak value of aging hardening, so 7A04 can be used under quenched artificial aging condition. Its disadvantages are low structure stability, low frequency fatigue strength and stress corrosion cracking tendency. Alloy spot welding has good weldability, bad gas welding, good machinability after heat treatment, but poor machinability after annealing
