1117 is the American standard ASTM standard free cutting steel. Good precision, easy cutting, can greatly improve the service life of the tool, reduce the processing time, machinability significantly improve efficiency. Typical applications for 1117 include: Automatic Screw Machine parts. Carburized Parts. Gears.1117 is not readily welded due to high sulphur content. Because of the addition of lead in 11L17, its weldability is also poor.
