1:Construction: A lead-acid battery typically consists of several lead plates immersed in a solution of sulfuric acid, which acts as the electrolyte. Each plate is coated with a lead dioxide paste (positive plate) or pure lead (negative plate).

2:Voltage: A single lead-acid cell provides a nominal voltage of around 2 volts. Multiple cells are combined in series to form a battery with higher voltage levels. Common configurations include 6-volt and 12-volt batteries for automotive and industrial applications.

3:Charging and Discharging: When a lead-acid battery is discharged, the sulfuric acid reacts with the lead plates, converting them into lead sulfate. During charging, the process is reversed, converting lead sulfate back into lead and lead dioxide. The chemical reactions involve the movement of ions and electrons, resulting in the flow of electrical current.
