The "2V" designation refers to the nominal voltage of the battery. A single cell of the battery has a nominal voltage of 2 volts, and multiple cells are typically connected in series to achieve higher voltages. For example, a 12V battery would consist of six 2V cells connected in series.
The "gel" in the battery's name refers to the type of electrolyte used in the battery. Gel batteries, also known as gel cell batteries, use a thickening agent to immobilize the electrolyte, creating a gel-like substance. This immobilization helps prevent the electrolyte from leaking or spilling, making gel batteries more suitable for applications where the battery may be subjected to vibrations or placed in different orientations.
