2A12 aluminum alloy belongs to Al-Cu-Mg series aluminum alloy.

It is a kind of high-strength hard aluminum, which can be strengthened by heat treatment. It has medium plasticity in quenched and just-quenched state, and spot welding is good. When gas welding is used, intergranular cracks may be formed. Tendency, the alloy has good machinability after quenching and cold work hardening, but low machinability after annealing: the corrosion resistance is not high, and anodizing treatment and painting methods are often used or the surface is coated with aluminum layer to improve its corrosion resistance.
