A: The storage capacity should be selected depending on the power consumption as well as the installed PV power. Battery storage should follow the below criterias. Not exceed 1.5 kWh per 1kW of PV capacity Not exceed 1.5kWh per 1000 kWh/annual of electricity consumption Be installed only if the PV power exceeds 0.5 kW per 1000 kWh/annual of electricity consumption

5.How much storage capacity of a battery is suitable for my home needs?

A: Basically, the storage should be large enough to supply a single-family home with solar power from evening till the next morning. For an average four-person household with an annual energy consumption of about 5000-kWh, a size of 7 kWh is usually sufficient.

Calculation: 5000 kWh / 365 days = 13.7 kWh per day, about 7 kWh of which is for the night
