AISI 310 Stainless Steel (UNS S31000)
AISI 310 stainless steel is a high chromium nickel austenitic stainless steel with a high carbon content. It has excellent mechanical properties, high temperature oxidation resistance and heat resistance.
Type 310S is a low carbon version of SS 310, 310H is to obtain the best creep strength and creep rupture strength. 310Cb is added with niobium to maximize the stability of carbides, prevent sensitization, and improve weldability and high temperature creep strength.
310S is an AOD melted austenitic stainless steel with high chromium and nickel content. This alloy has excellent resistance to oxidation at high temperatures making it suitable for furnace rails and dunnage. This grade is used often in carburizing atmospheres that are common in petrochemical industries.
