304H Stainless Steel
Steel Grade 304H | UNS S30409 | 1.4948
A recent addition to our stainless steel range, Brown McFarlane’s 304H range of steel plates are a modification of the standard 304 stainless steel grades with a higher Carbon content (typically between 0.04-0.10%). All plates are dual certified to ASTM/ASME A/SA 304/304H and we are the only stockist in the China to keep this grade in plate form.
• Used for service in elevated temperature environments
• Hot rolled 1D mill finish

Grade 304H is a fully weldable material under conventional welding procedures and although it is a tough austenitic stainless it will respond well when machined.
Brown McFarlane’s recent success of supplying 304H material into a major UK based Oil & Gas refinery (Essar Stanlow) has prompted the addition of the material to our regular stock programme.
