Material Characteristics
Alloy 254 SMO is a premium super austenitic stainless steel with low carbon content, alloyed with molybdenum and nitrogen. This composition delivers exceptional resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, stress corrosion cracking, and corrosion fatigue. The material offers substantially higher strength than common 300 series stainless steels—nearly double—while maintaining high ductility and impact strength.
