UNS S31653 Type 316LN Stainless Steel Pipe
UNS S31653 Type 316LN Stainless Steel is a low-carbon, nitrogen-enhanced version of Type 316 molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel. The Type 316 alloys offer superior resistance to general corrosion and pitting/crevice corrosion compared to conventional chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steels like Type 304. They also provide higher creep, stress-rupture, and tensile strength at elevated temperatures.
Key Features and Benefits
The nitrogen content in Type 316LN provides additional resistance to sensitization and offers solid solution hardening, increasing minimum specified yield strength compared to Type 316L stainless steel. This alloy maintains excellent resistance to general corrosion and pitting/crevice corrosion.
