Heat Treatment Processes
Hardening & Tempering:
  • Heat uniformly to 850°C
  • Quench in oil
  • Heat to 550°C and soak for minimum 2 hours
  • Cool in furnace
Annealing:
  • Heat to 800-850°C
  • Cool slowly to 550°C
  • Complete annealing in air
Normalizing:
  • Heat to 850°C
  • Cool to room temperature in air
Forging Instructions
  • Preheat material carefully
  • Raise forging temperature to 1150-1200°C
  • Maintain forging temperature above 850°C
Quality Certification
  • Chemical composition per DIN 7527-6, EN 10250-3
  • Mechanical properties testing
  • Non-metallic inclusions analysis
  • Grain size: Minimum 5, preferred 8 (DIN 50601)
