IC697MEM713 is an Expansion Memory manufactured by GE Fanuc Automation, which offers memory ranges of 64 KB, 128 KB, 512KB, and 256 KB. Application of IC697MEM713 is in the data memory and logic memory expansion of the modules IC697CPU771 and IC697CPU772 or IC697PCM711 (which is the Programmable Co-Processor Module).
IC697MEM713 is installed as a daughter board and is located in the same slot as the module it serves. This expansion memory supplements memory available on the existing base board. Memory is retained during power loss due to the battery situated on the base board housing. Logic program memory is automatically error-checked by the PLC CPU in the background. The PCM error checks storage memory when power is cycled and during instances of hard or soft resets.
To install IC697MEM713, the user must ensure the rack power is off. Then the 64 pin connector can be plugged into the connector on the base board, snaps engaged. Once the module is placed in rack, power-up can be initiated. Turn power on the included lithium battery maintains power in the instance of power loss. This battery also operates the calendar clock. The user must be careful to install a new battery before removing the old battery.
