Product Description and Application
Inconel 690 is also knows as UNS N06690, W.N.2.4642, ISO NW6690
Inconel 690 is a high chromel-nickel alloy with excellent corrosion resistance to many corrosive water medium and high temperature atmospheres. In addition to corrosion resistance, it also has high strength, good metallurgical stability, good processing performance and etc characteristics. The high chromium content makes the alloy excellent resistance to oxidizing chemicals and high temperature oxidizing gases. The high nickel content gives resistance to stress corrosion cracking in chlorinated environments and in sodium hydroxide solutions. Properties suitable for various applications of nitric acid or nitric acid/hydrofluoric acid solutions. For example, tail gas reheaters for nitric acid production and heating, nitric acid/hydrofluoric acid solution heating coils and tanks for pickling stainless steel and nuclear fuel reprocessing. The alloy resistance to sulfur-containing gases makes them attractive materials for radioactive waste disposal such as coal gasification units, burners and for sulfuric acid conduits treatment, furnace petrochemical processing, co-flow heat exchangers, incinerators and glass vitrification equipment.
