The UNS C26800 alloy has a machinability rate of 30.
Welding
The preferred welding techniques for the UNS C26800 include soldering, brazing, oxyacetylene welding, gas shielded arc welding, butt welding and spot welding. Seam welding and coated metal arc welding are not recommended for the UNS C26800.
Hot Working
The UNS C26800 performs poorly when hot formed.
Cold Working
The UNS C26800 has an excellent cold working property.
Annealing
Annealing of the UNS C26800 is done at temperatures ranging between 526 and 1026ºC (800 and 1300ºF).
CUZN33 alloy, also known as C26800, is a yellow brass that is hot-formed. Cu Zn 33, as its designation indicates, is composed of 33% zinc and 67% copper. This brass is a stronger alloy than CuZn30. It has very good cold forming properties.
