Process of complex iron desulfurization process

The complex iron desulfurization process is a wet oxidation method using complex iron as a catalyst to remove hydrogen sulfide. Its characteristic is to directly convert H₂S in the gas into elemental S. After absorption, the H2S content in the gas is less than 20ppm. It is a new type of desulfurization technology with simple process, high working sulfur capacity, and environmentally friendly and non-toxic. The sulfur recovery rate reaches 99.9%, and the purified tail gas can meet the continuously improving environmental indicators. The complex iron desulfurization process is suitable for sulfur recovery units with H₂S content of 0-100% and 0.1-20 t/d.

The optimal specification for a sled mounted complex iron sulfur recovery unit is a single set of sulfur less than 2 t/d.

The core of this process lies in using chelated iron (Fe³⁺) as a catalyst to directly oxidize H₂S into elemental sulfur in the liquid phase.

Absorption Stage: The H₂S-containing gas enters the absorber and contacts the catalyst solution. Fe³⁺ oxidizes H₂S into elemental sulfur while being reduced to ferrous iron (Fe²⁺).

Regeneration Stage: The solution containing Fe²⁺ enters the oxidizer. By blowing in air, Fe²⁺ is re-oxidized back to Fe³⁺, restoring the solution's activity for cyclic use.

Sulfur Recovery: The generated sulfur slurry is separated through equipment such as vacuum filters to finally form sulfur cakes.
