1. 2 Fall (Two Falls) Configuration: In a 2 fall system, the hoist rope is rigged in such a way that it passes over two sheaves (pulleys) before connecting to the load block or hook. This setup effectively doubles the pulling force exerted by the hoist motor, allowing for heavier lifts compared to a single line configuration. However, it also means that the lifting speed is halved since the cable has to travel twice the distance to lift the load the same height.

2. 4 Fall (Four Falls) Configuration: Similarly, a 4 fall configuration uses four parts of the hoist rope passing over pulleys, doubling the mechanical advantage compared to a 2 fall system. This configuration significantly increases the crane's lifting capacity, enabling it to handle very heavy loads. However, this comes at the cost of even slower lifting speeds, as the rope must travel four times the distance to lift the load the same height as in a single line configuration.
