Q1: How many types of excavator grabs are there?
A1: 3 types, mechanical grab, hydraulic grab with rotation and hydraulic grab without rotation.

The excavator mechanical grab is driven by the bucket cylinder, eliminating the need for additional hydraulic blocks and pipelines.

The non-rotating hydraulic grab should be controlled by adding a set of hydraulic valve blocks and pipelines.

The rotating hydraulic clamp requires two additional sets of hydraulic valve blocks and pipelines to be controlled.

Q2: Should the telescopic arm be equipped with a clamshell bucket or a grab bucket?

A2: Clamshell buckets are very helpful in excavation of sludge and sand. The excavation volume is larger and the efficiency is higher. However, in working conditions where sand and gravel are mixed, due to the small excavation force and small opening, the working efficiency of the shell bucket will be greatly reduced, while the grab can do the job.
