Q1: How many types of excavator grabs are there?

A1: 3 types, mechanical grab, hydraulic grab with rotation and hydraulic grab without rotation.

The excavator mechanical grab is driven by the bucket cylinder, eliminating the need for additional hydraulic blocks and pipelines.

Non-rotating hydraulic grabs should be controlled by adding a set of hydraulic valve blocks and pipelines.

Rotating hydraulic clamps require two additional sets of hydraulic valve blocks and pipelines for control.

Q2: Should the telescopic arm be equipped with a clamshell bucket or a grab bucket?

A2: Clamshell buckets are very helpful for digging out sludge and sand. The digging volume is larger and the efficiency is higher. However, under the conditions of sand and gravel mixing, due to the small excavation force and small opening, the working efficiency of the shell bucket will be greatly reduced, but the grab can do the job.
