The cold water pre-cooler belongs to the indirect cooling system. For large-scale cooling equipment, the shell-and-tube evaporator is used as the heat exchange equipment for the cooling water of the refrigeration system, and the water pump is used to circulate the cold water between the cold water pool and the shell-and-tube evaporator. After the cold water is cooled in the evaporator, it enters the cold water pool under the action of the water pump to cool down the fruit. The heated water flows into the evaporator from the other side and is cooled again. The refrigerant absorbs the heat of the cold water in the evaporator to cool down the cold water and keep it within the set range (0°C~20°C), and keeps circulating.
Pre-cooling is an important link in the postharvest treatment of vegetables and fruits, which has an important impact on the quality of storage, transportation and sales of fruits and vegetables. Pre-cooled cherries can reduce losses during circulation and prolong transportation and shelf life.
