Hydro cooler is widely used in fast cooling of melon and fruit.
 
Now most of the cherry water pre-coolers in the world are spray type, and the cooling speed of the spray type is a little faster than that of the immersion type. The immersion type must achieve rapid and uniform cooling. The water must have a certain flow rate in the immersion pre-cooling tank. The specific gravity of cherry fruit is generally greater than that of water, but occasionally in some years the climate is abnormal, which makes the cavity of the core part larger, and some fruits will Floating on the surface of the water, cherries will bring some branches, leaves and impurities when they are harvested, so the pre-cooler must have a filtration system. The spray type is easier to design a filtration system, while the submerged type is not easy to filter well.
 
Melon and fruit need to be cooled below 10ºC within 1hour from harvest moment, then put into cold room or cold chain transport to keep quality and extend shelf life.
Two types of hydro cooler, one is cold water immersing, the other is cold water spraying. Cold water is able to take away heat of fruit nut and pulp quickly as big specific heat capacity.
Water source can be chilled water or ice water. Chilled water is produced by water chiller unit, ice water is mixed with normal temperature water and piece ice.
