ASTM 2507 1.4410 Duplex Stainless Steel Rod & Bar - 23% Cr 4% Ni, 400 MPa Yield Strength
Premium duplex stainless steel rods and bars offering superior corrosion resistance and mechanical properties for demanding industrial applications.
ASTM 2507 (UNS S32304 / 1.4410) is a 23% chromium, 4% nickel duplex stainless steel that combines excellent corrosion resistance with mechanical strength twice that of standard 304L/316L austenitic grades.
- Yield strength 2x higher than 304L/316L stainless steel
- Excellent corrosion resistance comparable to 316L
- Enhanced stress corrosion cracking resistance
- Operating temperature range: -50°C to +300°C (-58°F to 572°F)
- Ideal for weight-saving designs in pressure vessel applications
- Bridges and structural components
- Storage tanks and pressure vessels
- Heat exchangers and water heaters
- Seawater systems and desalination plants
- Chemical tankers and piping systems
- Offshore platform firewalls and blast walls
- Rotors, impellers, shafts, and instrumentation tubing

Machining: Perform at low speeds with constant feeds to reduce work hardening. Chip breakers recommended due to tougher material characteristics.
Welding: Compatible with GTAW, SAW, and GMAW methods. Use balanced ferrite/austenite filler metals (2205 or 2304).
Hot Working: Heat to 954-1093°C (1750-2000°F) followed by rapid cooling. Annealing recommended after working at 930-1050°C (1710-1920°F) with rapid quenching.
