2A12 aluminum bar is hard aluminum and can be strengthened by heat treatment.
2A12 aluminum bar alloy metal Al-Cu-Mg series aluminum alloy. 2A12 aluminum rod is a kind of hard aluminum that can be strengthened by heat treatment and has medium plasticity in the quenched and freshly quenched states. 2A12 aluminum rods are spot welded well but tend to form intergranular cracks when gas welded. The machinability of 2A12 aluminum rod alloy is good after quenching and cold work hardening, but the machinability is low after annealing.

Heavy forgings, slabs, and extruded materials are used in aircraft structures, multi-stage rocket firstestage fuel tanks and spacecraft parts, wheels, truck frames, and suspension system parts.
