2205 duplex stainless steel pipe is a work-hardenable alloy with excellent corrosion resistance and extremely high mechanical strength. 2205 duplex stainless steel pipe contains relatively high levels of chromium (between 18% and 28%) and low to moderate levels of nickel (between 1.5% and 8%). The chemical composition of 2205 duplex stainless steel pipe and the balanced (duplex) microstructure with roughly equal volume percentages of ferrite and austenite make 2205 duplex stainless steel pipe of very good quality. In most cases, 2205 duplex stainless steel pipe is tougher than ferritic stainless steel.
