Ⅰ. Foring Head Length

The forging head is too short and the small car jaws cannot be clamped. If the forging head is too long, it will increase metal consumption and reduce the yield of cold drawn steel. According to actual statistical data from a certain factory, for a 4-meter-long billet, when the forging head length is 200 millimeters, the metal loss is 4.87%; When the forging head length is 120 millimeters, the metal cutting head loss is 2.91%. Therefore, in production, the forging head length is minimized as much as possible while ensuring that the steel can be firmly clamped by the jaws during drawing. Generally speaking, a more ideal forging head length should be equal to the sum of the length of the drawing car's jaws and the width of the die's fixed diameter belt and outlet cone.
