Description
The cable structure involves fibers housed in a high-strength plastic tube, filled with a water-resistant compound.
At the core, a fiber reinforced plastic (FRP), sometimes encased in polyethylene (PE) for high fiber count cables,
acts as a dielectric strength member. Tubes and fillers are wrapped around this strength member, forming a co-
mpact circular core. This core is shielded from water penetration by a water-blocking tape, covered with a thin
PE inner sheath. Following this, a PSP layer is longitudinally applied over the inner sheath, and the cable is fina-
lized with a PE outer sheath for added protection.
