Description
The optical fibers are housed within a high-modulus plastic loose tube, which is filled with a water-resistant
compound. In the core's center, a steel wire functions as the metallic strength member. The tubes, including
the fillers, are wrapped around this strength member, forming a compact and circular cable core. Following
this, PSP is applied around the cable core. This section of the cable, along with the stranded wires serving
as support, is enclosed with a polyethylene (PE) sheath, forming a figure 8 structure. Such a cable design is
intended for self-supporting aerial installations.
