Description :
This guide covers standard specification for welded stainless steel tubing for mechanical applications where appearance, mechanical properties, or corrosion resistance is needed. The tubes shall be made from flat-rolled steel by an automatic welding process without the addition of filler metal. Tubes shall be furnished in one of the following shapes - round, square, rectangular, or special.
Heat analysis shall be performed wherein several grades of steel shall conform to the required chemical composition for carbon, manganese, phosphorus, sulfur, silicon, nickel, chromium, molybdenum, titanium, columbium, and tantalum.
What is 304 stainless steel?
304 stainless steel is a common material in stainless steel with a density of 7.93 g/cm³, which is also called 18/8 stainless steel in the industry. High temperature resistant to 800℃, with good processing performance and high toughness, it is widely used in industry and furniture decoration industry and food and medical industry.
304 is a universal stainless steel, which is widely used to make equipment and parts that require good comprehensive performance (corrosion resistance and formability). In order to maintain the inherent corrosion resistance of stainless steel, steel must contain more than 18% chromium and more than 8% nickel. 304 stainless steel is a grade of stainless steel produced in accordance with the American ASTM standard.
