LED candles are made of plastic and contain a small light bulb inside. They are also known as battery candles, although they do not use real candles and can not be used as real flame ones. Instead, they use electricity to produce light, through the use of an LED (light emitting diode).
The circuity from the board moves the magnet attached to the bottom of the candle's flame, thus producing the random, highly realistic movements of the flame. An LED light is focused on the flame, giving it a warm and inviting glow. The end result is a candle that is safe to use where conventional candles are not.
