Overflow valve description

Relief valve, also known as return valve, is a hydraulic pressure control valve.Relief valves are divided into two categories: spring type and rod type. In addition, there are impulse type safety valve, pilot type safety valve, safety switch valve, safety decompression valve, deadweight safety valve and so on. The relief valve is the overflow through the valve port to adjust the working pressure of the system or limit its maximum working pressure to prevent the system from overloading. In the assembly or use of the relief valve, due to the damage of the O-ring seal, the combination seal ring, or the loosening of the installation screw and pipe joint, it may cause undue external leakage.

Safety protection 

When the system is working normally, the valve is closed. Only when the load exceeds the specified limit (system pressure exceeds the set pressure), the overflow is turned on for overload protection, so that the system pressure is no longer increased (usually the set pressure of the relief valve is 10% to 20% higher than the maximum working pressure of the system).

Practical applications are generally

as a unloading valve, as a remote pressure regulator, as a high and low pressure multistage control valve, as a sequence valve, used to produce back pressure (string on the return oil circuit).
