Angular contact ball bearings mainly bear large unidirectional axial loads. The larger the contact angle, the greater the load bearing capacity. The cage material includes steel plate, brass or engineering plastics, and the molding method includes stamping or turning, which is selected according to the bearing form or use conditions. Others include combined angular contact ball bearings, double row angular contact ball bearings and four-point contact ball bearings.
Features:
Support both radial and axial loads: Single-row angular contact ball bearings (ACBBs) are designed to support both radial and axial loads. These bearings are suitable for applications where there is a combination of axial and radial load or where one kind of load dominates. ACBBs have typical contact angles of 30° or 40°, which allows them to withstand axial loads in one direction.
A variety of contact angles: Angular contact ball bearings come in a variety of contact angles, which determines their load-carrying capacity. Larger contact angles offer greater capacity for axial loads, while smaller contact angles are better for high-speed rotation. The contact angle is created by the line that joins the points of contact between the ball and the raceways of the inner and outer ring.
Adjustment of internal clearance: Two opposed angular contact bearings are often used to adjust internal clearance. This means that the bearings can be mounted in opposing pairs, so that opposing radial and axial forces balance. Pressed steel cages are commonly used in ACBBs, but for high-precision bearings with contact angles under 30°, polyamide resin cages are typically employed.
